No-deposit auctions, explained
Bidding without frozen money, evening finals on Riyadh time, a hidden reserve and anti-sniping — the whole mechanism, honestly.
A classic car auction starts with distrust: freeze a deposit first, then we'll talk. We built ours the other way around — on commitment instead of collateral. Your money stays yours until the deal itself.
A bid is a promise to buy
The only thing we ask for instead of a deposit is seriousness. When you place a bid, your contact details are shared with the seller's side, and you take on a real commitment to buy the car if you win. There are no accidental bids: every one is preceded by a confirmation dialog.
No money locked up
- Placing a bid charges and blocks nothing — no deposit, no escrow.
- Outbid? You've lost nothing — no money ever left your account. Bid again whenever you like.
One-tap bidding
The server computes the next bid for you: roughly 1% of the current price, rounded to 500 SAR. No zero wars, no sneaky 50-riyal outbids — just confirm the bid and the system does the rest. Prices update in real time, and every lot has an open bid history.
A hidden reserve
Every auction has a reserve — the minimum the seller will accept. Nobody but the seller sees the exact amount: the lot only shows a status — reserve met or not met. Even the starting price is derived with a random factor, so the reserve can't be reverse-engineered. Once the reserve is met, every participant gets a notification: the car will definitely go to the highest bidder.
Evening finals
Auction finals run in the evening, starting at 17:00 Riyadh time, in short slots. There's a quick format — a lot approved before 14:00 finishes the same day — and a long one, with the final three days out, so the car has time to gather an audience. Participants get reminders 5 minutes and 2 minutes before the end.
Anti-sniping
A bid in the last 60 seconds extends the auction by 2 minutes. Sniping is pointless: your rival always has time to answer. The best price wins, not the best stopwatch.
After you win
If your bid is the highest and the reserve is met, you get a Winner ticket — with a confirmation code and the seller's contacts. From there it's simple: share your Garage ID with the seller, they pay the platform fee — 500 SAR, paid by the seller only, and only for a completed deal — and hand the car over. It lands in your Garage with its full history, Logbook included.
